I guess I’m paying the price of not having tried to check in to the USMAA’s website in a while and I feel like I’m in a new dimension or alternate reality. My club is no longer listed, I’m no longer listed, nor are my instructor or any of my assistant instructors, so clearly there was not a transfer of data to the new servers/domains. There were a lot of bumps in the USMAA restructuring after the passing of O’Sensei, but it seemed to be headed in the right direction and except for my last promotion more than seven years ago, which had its own bumps so-to-speak, I was awaiting contact from my “Style Head” who never contacted me nor did anyone else from the USMAA. I have checked back over the years but never really anything new posted except for the occasional training camp. Now big changes. I guess it’ll take some getting used to but as a USMAA Life Member for 15+ years, I really feel a bit lost. I tried to “register” but there isn’y any place to add my Life Membership number, so I guess well see. Any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
There are two parts to the site, a free community side and the member side. The goal is to provide a forum for martial artists and also to list our members.
The community side is the user you created to make this post, the various groups etc.
The membership listings are the link in the main menu called “Member Database”. I think I see you listed there if you search. There is a link at the bottom to reset your password and claim your listing.
The United States Martial Arts Association (USMAA) was created by Philip Porter in 1995. O-Sensei Porter continued to be the cornerstone of the association until August, 2011. The USMAA continues in the same spirit as outlined by O-Sensei Porter. The leaders of the association are dedicated martial artists who have incorporated the principles of Budo into their lives. The association is accepting of all martial arts styles, advocates fair and equitable ranks, and continues to provide the best training and leadership available. The association is a non-profit corporation.
